About Me

Becoming a therapist wasn’t something I always knew I’d do; but it’s the most meaningful decision I’ve ever made. In my early 30s, after having children and reflecting on my own journey with addiction, I felt a deep pull to do more with my life; to help others who were facing similar struggles.

Like many people, I’ve experienced first-hand how addiction can affect not only your wellbeing but every part of your life. That personal insight became the driving force behind a new path. I knew I wanted to make a difference, not just from a place of empathy, but with the right skills, tools, and knowledge to offer real, lasting support.

I started by volunteering. I worked with Mind, supporting people with complex mental health issues, and spent time helping women who had experienced domestic abuse. But it was my voluntary work in a drug and alcohol addiction centre that truly solidified my purpose. I saw how powerful it was to walk alongside someone as they found their strength again. That experience shaped everything I’ve done since.

While working, raising a family, and volunteering, I committed myself to years of study and training. I became a fully qualified therapist, specialising in drug and alcohol addiction, and focused my learning around trauma-informed therapy, mental health, and the deeper emotional roots of addiction. It hasn’t always been easy, but I’ve never looked back.

Today, I run my own private practice from my small home office and a comfortable therapy space in the centre of Bournemouth. Working for myself means I can be fully present for each person I work with. No rushed appointments, no waiting lists, just focused, flexible support that fits around your life.

Why Work With Me?

Because I’ve been there.

I understand what it feels like to carry the weight of addiction, to want to change but not know where to start. I also know that with the right support, change is absolutely possible. My approach is non-judgemental, honest, and grounded in real experience, both personally and professionally.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model. Every person I work with is different, and I tailor my support to meet you exactly where you are in your journey. Whether you’re taking your first step or looking for ongoing support in recovery, I’ll walk alongside you with care, clarity, and compassion.
